Step aboard a guided Kingfisher Cruise (selected days only) and glide through the Barmah Wetlands, where narrow waterways wind between towering river red gums. It’s the best way to experience this internationally significant ecosystem—peaceful, informative, and perfect for spotting native birdlife and wildlife along the way.
Afternoon:
Picnic Lunch at Thompsons Beach (Cobram):
One of Australia’s largest inland beaches, this wide sandy stretch along the Murray is ideal for swimming, lazing under gums, or enjoying a quiet meal beneath the trees.
Explore Quinn Island Wetland Sanctuary (Cobram):
Walk the loop trail and admire native grasses, nesting birds, and frogs among tranquil lagoons.
Campfire Under the Stars (where permitted):
If staying at a caravan park or riverside cabin with a fire pit, enjoy a simple evening watching the Milky Way emerge above the treetops.
